Listening invitation!

We're looking for people interested in art to just ... sit and ... listen!

Are you curious about art in different forms? Would you like to challenge your understanding of what art is?

Join us to take part in a listening activity and short discussion in a small group at Teatru Salesjan on Thursday 16 February 2025.

Who are we?

Niels Plotard is a sound artist, originally from France. He is interested in listening as a conscious action, and often makes sound pieces and installations in natural environments.

Abigail Agius is a Maltese artist working in movement, drawing, and artistic research. She is curious about the relationship between the human body and the world, and the connections between beings in the world around us.

Margerita Pulè is a cultural manager and curator from Sliema. She is researching how art can be brought out of exhibition spaces and into everyday life.

What will happen?

We’ll ask you to sit down with us in the theatre alongside 2 or 3 other people. We’ll give you headphones to listen to a live sound feed of performer Abigail Agius interacting with the streets of Sliema in real-time - this will last around 15 minutes.

We’ll then ask you to stay and chat with us for a while, tell us your thoughts about the sounds you’ve heard, and about the experience in general. We’ll also have a small chat about your contact with art in general, and your experience of it.

In total, the session won’t take more than an hour..

The conversation will be in English, but we can also switch to Maltese.

When?
This will take place on 16 February 2025 with sessions at the following times:

10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm

Where?
The Teatru Salesjan (Guze Howard St in Sliema), has kindly allowed us the use of its space for this research.
