An invitation!
We're looking for participants for a short tour on Jan. 25th, to test an Augmented Reality experience with your own mobile phone.
Are you curious about digital art and augmented reality? Join us to take part in this augmented reality activity and short discussion with a small group at Mosta Dome.
Who are we?
Bettina Hutschek is a German artist, based in Malta and Berlin. She creates work that blurs the line between historical truth and imagination. Her recent project “Grognet’s Dream” tells some stories from the life of the architect of the Mosta Dome through Augmented Reality (AR).
Margerita Pulè is a cultural manager and curator from Sliema. She is researching how art can be brought out of exhibition spaces and into everyday life.
What will happen?
We’ll ask you to join a group of around 10 - 15 people starting on the parvis of the Mosta Dome. Bettina will introduce the project and will talk you through how to use your phones to take part in the activity. The group will hear about Grognet’s life and dreams, and will use their phones to explore some of Grognet’s story.
We’ll then ask you to join us for a coffee and chat with us for a while, tell us your thoughts about what you’ve seen, and about the experience in general.
In total, the session shouldn’t take more than an hour and a half, and the conversation will be in English, but we can also switch to Maltese.
Augmented Reality (AR) allows you to see the world through the camera on your phone, but with invented elements added to the world by the artist!
When?
This will take place on 25 January 2025. We will meet at 10am, and will continue until around 11:30am.
Where?
We’ll meet at the entrance to the Mosta Rotunda here.
